Joe laid motionless in his bed. Doctors had come in and out checking on him and asking him to walk around, but he couldnt stop thinking about how Melrose was dead, and ho he was never going to see her again. He never got to say goodbye, he never got to tell her how he truly felt. "Mr. Jonas, your free to go home" A nurse came in and said. She walked over to Joe and unhooked him from all the tubes. "Your brother Kevin said he was on the 6th floor. Hell take you home."Joe simply nodded and slowly got up. He changed into some pants and a sweater, and headed for the 6th floor. He slowly crawled his way thought eh halls, not used to walking for so long. His legs felt like jelly and his arms we struggling to hold up his weight. He finally made it to the elevator and worked his way down."Joe! Hey! I cant believe youre awake!" Kevin said wrapping him in a friendly hug. "When they called my cell phone a few hours ago, I thought it was the best news Ive heard in a long time." Kevin said helping Joe over to the window looking out at Jack."Wow, I heard Nick say that your son had cancer, but I didnt realize the reality of it until now." Joe looked out at Jack. "See Joe, he needs bone marrow. But he needs the right kind. When youre up to it, maybe we can run a test and see if you can fit. He really needs us Joe, you might save his life." Maggie said pleading to him.Joe once again nodded. "Of course, but, do you think one of you could drive me home, Im really tired."Kevin smiled "Yea, Ill take you" Kevin helped him over to an available wheel chair parked by a front desk."Man, I should have thought of this when I was getting here. So much easier." Joe said relieved. He took a seat and sighed."So, has Melrose came to see you yet?" Kevin said pushing Joe. Joe squeezed the wheel chair handles until his knuckles were white, they started to throb but the pain was better than how his heart felt."How would she do that? Shes dead." Joe said as if Kevin didnt already know. Kevin pushed up to the door and helped Joe stand up."ugh, there. And Since when!?" Kevin said looking Joe in the eyes. Joe looked away trying to hide his tears. "I saw her last week with some guy at the drug store!" Kevin said confused. Joe looked back at Kevin angry and also confused."Nick told me she was dead. She killed herself. What. the. fuck?" Joe said making every word deeper in his voice. "Where is that mother fucker? Im going to kill him!" Joe said looking around pointlessly."He came and asked for the car keys; he was going to the pharmacy. He left hours ago!" Kevin said trying to draw Joes attention."Bitch! That means Melrose is out there. Shes okay, shes alive!" Joe called. He turned and ran as fast as he could out the doors. His legs felt as if they would give at any moment, but he didnt care, his side cramped up, but eh didnt care. Kevin tried to chase after him and called him. "JOE WAIT!" Kevin tried to stop him. He wanted to tell Joe what Nick had said to Melrose at the hospital 6 months ago, but he didnt have the time.Joe ran hard, not too sure where he was going, he just ran. He made it back to the school, But he knew with Christmas this close, they would probably be on their break. The snow had gotten into Joes shoes, making his feet cold and wet, but he didnt care. He just wanted Melrose. He ran to her house and fiercely knock on the door. But nobody answered."MELROSE! MELROSE!" He tried to call her name, but nobody answered.Melrose laid in her room, hugging the sweater closer with each call the ghost made. She cried. She just couldnt get him off her mind.*talk about oblivious! Comments?*
