Dec 4, 2008 - Great job Chad, no curveballs for little leaguers. It's hard to get that point across to kids when they see the LL World Series on tv, and all you see curves.

Dec 4, 2008 - Great Video. Saved as favorite. With a curve ball, since the ball will break, where do you want to throw the ball. High out side? High inside? Also with the curve, dosen't the amount of velocity you put on the ball effect the rate of how much the ball will break? Throw harder less break, Softer more break.

Dec 4, 2008 - i'll be making an instructional video on how to eat an entire pizza by just folding the whole thing over into a taco-shell form.
PhillyCards Says:
Dec 4, 2008 - KIDS!!! Listen to Chad and DON'T THROW CURVES!! I remember wanting to throw curves like the major leaguers when i was young, and it blew my arm out by the time i was 16. Fastball/Changeup is a GREAT combination for the youngsters, if you work on it and get it right. Just look at Hamels and Santana if you want to see how dominant a fastball/changeup guy can be.

Dec 4, 2008 - I'll do a breaking ball specific video next. But quickly, How hard you throw a curve doesn't determine how much it breaks. The release point and how tight the rotation is on the ball will determine how hard it breaks.Always want fastball arm speed on all pitches. If you throw hard, you will have a harder curve, but that doesn't mean it will break any more or less. The rotation is the key to the break.
