Crysis on highest settings, 30 average fps; on a sapphire radeon HD 4870.This card is great and has very high overclocking potential if you get a good cooler.

Dec 1, 2008 - 30 fps is still bad tho..what are ur system specs..and wht resolution issit on ?

notToast Says:

Dec 1, 2008 - Keep in mind it's the highest possible settings. Crysis is the most demanding game out on the market, with a normal mainstream PC you'll barely be able to play it on medium settings. This is a 1280x1024 resolution.I got a e8400 (not oc'd yet), 4870, 4gb of 800mhz c4, on an antec 900. I could OC my system a lot more and get better fps but I don't want to do it yet, although my temps are extremely low.

Dec 1, 2008 - consider using the graphic mod 2 keep ur smilling atleast ?

Dec 2, 2008 - What are you doing dude!!? You could have uploaded in 720 HD quality using &fmt=22 like mine :)

notToast Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - dude it's messed up. how can i upload it in HD? right now the only thing you can do is fmt=18

Authenticiter Says:

Dec 2, 2008 - Well to answer ljonathan991, the guy right here is able to get an average of 30 fps with the HD 4870 from ati, all maxed with a resolution of 1280x1024.I've seen some benchmark with computer over 5000 $ hardly get over 32 fps avg with that same card. So, I think the guy right here have some pretty good result with his 4870, which is, in my opinion, one of the best videocard on the market today price/performance.I hope I've answer some questions in your mind...Take care guys, God bless !

Dec 3, 2008 - 5000 $ computer you say? that's a flattering comparison. I built my rig for 900 euros and I didn't even go all-out on power, my first priority was to have good quality mobo, psu, and case (fun fact: around 90% of computers breaking are due to cheap psu's or mobo's)also one of the reason I'm getting results like this is that i overclocked my card from 750mhz clock to 840mhz the moment i got it hehe. and memory from 900mhz to 1000mhz

Authenticiter Says:

Dec 5, 2008 - Hey thanks for the info, I didn't knew that :*around 90% of computers breaking are due to cheap psu's or mobo's*Good to know it !Well, the best thing to have when you want to play games is a good videocard. Even if you have te best CPU and 8 Gig of memory, if you don't have a good videocard, you still have bad results. Here you have a great CPU and one of the best videocard on the market, it explain that you have good result.Good CPU and great videocard is the key !God bless you Sir !

Dec 6, 2008 - well i have built my pc for 460 euro..ive got a geforce 9800 GT (no OC) and this runs at 45-60 frames at 1440*900 all maxed out so...GPU is the key...

notToast Says:

Dec 6, 2008 - could you give the rest of your specs? You can't run crysis on highest settings (mind you, we're talking enthusiast / "ultra high" settings here) on a 460 euro pc, unless you got all your parts 10 times cheaper.I also find it hard to believe a non-oc'd 9800gt can run it on 60 fps. The most you'll be getting is 15 fps or so.

Dec 6, 2008 - intel core 2 duo E7300 @ 2.6 GHz 2 Gb ram @800 mhzAsus nvidia Geforce 9800GT (600/1500/1800) with glaciator heatsinkmobo:Asus p5k senothing overcloked all at enthusiast @ 1440*900

notToast Says:

Dec 6, 2008 - Dude there's no way you can play with all settings set to enthusiast with that rig. Your PC is pretty good for the price you paid for it, but it doesn't even compare to mine (no offence), so there's no way you can get better results than me.

Nightmare2005 Says:

Dec 6, 2008 - no? check out my profile ive made two videos to prove it...and right now im playing farcry 2 all maxed out and its smoother than crysis...

notToast Says:

Dec 6, 2008 - Dude it's just not possible. How do you explain that you get higher fps than me when my specs are obviously much better? My card is running at 850/4400 (core/memory), yours is 600/1500. I also use directX 10.1, i have 4gb same speeds as your 2gb, and processor 1 generation higher than yours (e8400).HOW do you explain you get better results?either you're lying, or we don't run at the same settings, or it's not your true specs.

Nightmare2005 Says:

Dec 6, 2008 - 1) stay calm :D 2) it depends on the structure of the GPU i have 212 stream processors and 512mb on board dual channel DDR2 @ 256bit bus 3) Crysis warhead uses 1.2 GB of system memory so its not necessary to have 4 GB or ram 4) CPu its not highly involved and my own one covers the recomended settings (E8400 its the old one with much cache L2 and higher FSB)5)maybe ati drivers are less compatible then nvidia ones so my card its faster because its optimized better

notToast Says:

Dec 7, 2008 - hehe good luck with it. If you want feedback about it, I can tell you I'm very satisfied with it. The only thing I regret is not getting a more powerful CPU, but maybe that's just my own taste. So make sure you get a CPU that can keep up with the 4870

nommayomnom Says:

Dec 7, 2008 - Yeah I was considering either getting a quad 2.4 or a dual 3.16

GaryLiao Says:

Dec 23, 2008 - Would a Phenom 9950 do good with the HD 4870?

notToast Says:

Dec 24, 2008 - I don't know too much about AMD processors, but I suppose phenom 9950 is the quad core one? If yes, yea it should be good.
