On Third Earth, Mumm-Ra gains possession of the Totem of Dera through one of the cauldron spirits. The Ancient Spirits of Evil tell Mumm-Ra and the Mutants that this particular piece of the Treasure of Thundera holds healing powers so strong that inanimate objects can be brought to life. The spirits suggest to Mumm-Ra to use the treasure to create evil minions to battle the Thundercats. Mumm-Ra charges Vultureman to make a weapon around the totem.Lion-O, Wilykit and Snarfer check out a distress signal, only to be attacked by a swamp creature brought to life by the Totem of Dera through Vultureman's device. The three Thundercats crash into the swamp, with Lion-O swallowing some poisonous water while they try for shore. Jaga appears to help, but Lion-O is too delirious to realize his mentor is present. The Thundercat spirit turns to Snarfer to get the message across that they need to get the Totem of Dera from Vultureman to help Lion-O.Snarfer runs off to confront the Mutants while Wilykit tries to keep Lion-O safe by hiding. Snarfer takes the totem and finds his friends in time for the Totem of Dera to heal Lion-O. The Thundercats run off the Mutants only to be attacked by Mumm-Ra. The devil priest takes the totem away from the Thundercats to command the creation of the Demon of the Swamp. Lion-O calls for the rest of his friends. With their combined Thundercat spirits and the Sword of Omens, they defeat the demon and Mumm-Ra.
