Violence in the hip hop/rap industry (My Two Cent)--If you have not heard yet, Miami rapper Rick Ross is being sued by DJ Vlad for an alleged beating that took place in Houston at the Ozone Awards this past weekend. According to the lawsuit filed by Vlad, in which he is suing Ross for $4 million due to severe bodily harm, the DJ claims Ross lured him to a hotel room to discuss some things with him over his coverage of Ross once being a correctional officer. Once in the hotel room and after a brief conversation between himself and Ross, Vlad claims that Ross' entourage begin beating him and Ross did nothing to stop them. Sources report that after the beating, the men took off and left Vlad lying on the floor bleeding.I encourage viewers to look up the pictures of Vlad after the attack. It's sad that grown men must resort to this kind of foolish and childish behavior. According to an article on MTV.com, due to the savage beating, Vlad received "three facial fractures, a corneal abrasion and possible permanent nerve damage." I just want to know one thing.......When will all this silly beefing and violence in the hip hop/rap industry end?No body gives a damn how tough you think you are. And since when has it become a criteria in the rap game that you must be 'gangsta' to rap? The game is all twisted, all confused. I thought rap artists and performers were in the industry to entertain and make music but maybe I was wrong....maybe it is about beef and who can cause the most (negative) controversy in the media. Rap artists out there- keep the beef on wax like the old school cats did. And definitely do not beat down a person for conducting an interview about a damn SPECK of your LIFE, no matter how embarassing, trivial, or painfully true the speck is. Keep it 100. Aug 20, 2008 - Rick Ross is taking this whole "Boss" persona a tad bit too far. Having his goons beat up people. He is not the Godfather, he wasn't casted in Goodfellas OR Casino. I love me some Rick Ross but he should take a vacation and come back when everyone forgets about the whole C.O. scandal.
